St Mary’s : Lichfield

St Mary's is a church which plays its part in the life of the City by being open
to shoppers and vistors throughout the day, providing an opportunity for prayer
and peace in in the hustle and bustle of Lichfield 's city centre.
St Mary's is stands in the Market Square, right at the heart of Lichfield. Although geographically our parish is small, just a few central streets, we aim to be a visible witness to Jesus Christ to all those living, working, shopping or sight-seeing in our city centre.
We therefore try to have our church open throughout the day, so that people can visit, pray or just spend a few moments in quiet. Our Thursday morning Communion service is particularly popular with shoppers.
Our church occupies just part of the original church building, which it now shares with a day centre for the elderly and the Lichfield Heritage Exhibition.
We are part of the group of churches headed by St Michael on Greenhill.
Our services follow a weekly pattern, but with other special services, including the Mayor's Civic Service during the year. Please contact us for further details.
